Question: Why is unstable set as default nixpkgs url? #4

Hello, I'm here following your tutorial on youtube and wanted to ask why is the default nixpkgs.url value set to unstable?

As a beginner and I presume mostly beginners will be watching the tutorials wouldn't it be better to keep the nixpkgs value to the current stable release until a new update and keep the unstable commented out for people to enable it themself if they want to?

Unstable is not bleeding edge, so it's a perfect middle ground between having super fresh packages and well-tested ones.

Sorry for the late answer, I don't check issues regularly. Just going to leave this for those who also have this question.
