Provide/Update/Integrate git mirror #356

I am working on a new idea ( https://github.com/hacklets/hacklets ) which for
the vim part will heavily depend on vundle ( https://github.com/gmarik/vundle/
).

However, vundle can only use git repositories, and for the hacklets I also
intend to not depend (for the core components at least) on other revision
control systems to fetch projects from.

Now, I see you used to have a git mirror at https://github.com/vimwiki/vimwiki
but you've stopped synchronizing that one.

It would be great if you would continue to keep it in sync, not just for my
needs, but for the larger community, and to make this project more reachable.

Thanks

I have never had a github mirror for vimwiki.
About a month ago a kind person has created vimwiki account on github and set
me as administrator(or smth like that) with the words similar to yours.

The problem is that I don't know how to set google.code repo to sync with
github automatically.

I can give you or anyone willing to maintain github mirror access to vimwiki
account...

Uhm, that looks like an organization (in github terms). Try going to
https://github.com/organizations/vimwiki/settings/owners and add the following
username: flavius

I'll try to do it on a regular basis, and this way, even if I disappear, the
URL will stay the same and you'll be able to hand it over in the same manner to
someone else.

I've found there is already this: https://github.com/vim-scripts/vimwiki

It doesn't make sense to have a github mirror, unless you want to also receive
pull requests & track issues from there.

Do you want to?

From what I know from the community, github is the home of lots of vimmers, so
it could help vimwiki get closer to them.

Anyway, I've put some instructions here: https://github.com/flavius/vimwiki/wiki

The instructions are not complete (they don't tell you how to achieve "full
integration"), and I'll delete that page (and the entire mirror) in a week.
They should however put you on the right track.

Cheers

@flavius.as: This looks interesting, but I haven't had a chance to look at it
in detail. Would you mind keeping your pages online for longer than a week?

Thanks

The mirror on vim-scripts https://github.com/vim-scripts/vimwiki was recently
lagging far behind the vimwiki trunk. This caused difficulties for users who
were installing vimwiki via git-only based tools. Perhaps this was a temporary
glitch.
