Now that QGIS can rotate an entire project by degrees it would be so nice if your plug-in had an option to create polys that DO NOT rotate with the project when creating new ones. By this I mean, say I rotate my project 15 degrees your app would rotate newly created polys 15 degrees in the opposite direction so rectangles would still face to the top rather than North.
I have included an example for further clarification.
Here is a screenshot showing two buildings I must create a poly “footprint” for them. They are not facing North so with your app I normally create the rectangles and then rotate them to match. Not a big issue but I have 1,000s of buildings to create!
Here I use QGIS and rotate entire project -30 degrees.
But look what happens when I create rectangles. They are still facing North.
If your app had option to keep the new polys facing to the “top” (cannot think of a better word), then I could quickly create the polys without having to rotate each individual poly. The app would automatically rotate newly made polys the same amount of degrees in the opposite direction. In this example they would be rotated 30 degrees. When I create new polys they would face to the “top” and not North as long as I had the option active.
I am sure others would find this option very useful for their needs as well. If you need some to test I am available immediately!
