Import bookmarks not working #63

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a shortened version of a pdf (remove some pages)
2. Open shortened version in Orion and add some bookmarks
3. Export bookmarks
4. Open original (long version) of pdf and try importing bookmarks.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It says import successful but no bookmarks are actually imported.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.42.1 on Android 2.2.1 (Sony PRS-T1)

Please provide any additional information below.

I solved the "issue". I modified the .xml file by changing the file name and
file size. Then I imported and voilà, the bookmarks where imported/transferred.

The issue is that it is not clear that the imported bookmarks remain attached
to the original file. An Import menu item while viewing the bookmarks of a file
to me says: "import bookmarks associated to this file."

There two menu items in bookmark activity menu: "Import..." and "Append...",
first do import of bookmarks linked to original books and second one imported
selected bookmarks to current book (that you want). I couldn't find "import
bookmarks associated to this file" message in menu - what localization do you
use?

I didn't mean to say there is such a menu item. It's how I interpreted the
import command.
So in actual facr I could simply used the append command to do what I did in a
round-about way. Thanks for the info.
