[BUG] Some Required Theme Snaps are missing. #286

Open Sabyasachi-Seal opened 1 year ago

Sabyasachi-Seal commented 1 year ago

I keep getting this notification saying that some required theme snaps are missing. Seems like this is a common issue with GTK and Orchis. Any Fixes?

Same issue

Snap is not supported now

jpjarnoux commented 1 year ago

Okay, I could see there is Flatpak now ? Which way is the best for you ? Thanks

Sabyasachi-Seal commented 1 year ago

I installed with the normal installation procedure with install.sh, but this is a notification that comes up every time I boot , not present with other themes.

vinceliuice commented 1 year ago

What's your system? I did not add any notification in my theme installation

Sabyasachi-Seal commented 1 year ago

Its Ubuntu 22.04

vinceliuice commented 1 year ago

I think it's your system notification to tell you install some snap version themes for your deskktop you can just click it to install them

Sabyasachi-Seal commented 1 year ago

Checked again. I uninstalled Orchis and the notification no longer appears. There is a related issue in WhiteSur GTK theme: here

I just installed the Orchis theme myself and I am getting the pop up. Ubuntu 22.04 as well.

tranzzik commented 1 year ago

Yep same issue here on Orchis, trying to install them just results in the same failed message.

fregie commented 1 year ago

Same issue too

etothex23 commented 1 year ago

With Ubu budgie 10.6.4 linux 5.19.0 after installing orchis from snap I get this message.

viniasbr commented 1 year ago

Installed with install.sh and I get the same error message on Ubuntu 22.04

jtrosper commented 1 year ago

Fresh install of Ubuntu Budgie 22.04. Same error message. Clicking the notification does nothing.

cchaires commented 1 year ago

Same here with Ubuntu 23.04 Gnome 44 I use these options: ./install.sh -d /usr/share/themes/ -t green -c dark -s compact -l --tweaks compact --shell 44

joejoejar commented 1 year ago

same issue Ubuntu 22.04

vinceliuice commented 1 year ago
  1. Uninstall gtk-common-themes using: sudo snap remove gtk-common-themes
  2. Reinstall it again with: sudo snap install gtk-common-themes --channel=latest/candidate (latest/beta and latest/edge should also work)
  3. reboot your session/re-login

same. in default color (either light or dark) it works well. the notification appears only once and it's possible to install the missing snap. but it doesn't happen that way when using custom configs.

kauanmocelin commented 4 months ago

Same here on ubuntu 24.04 installed manually using ./install.sh, very annoying notification.

hemangjoshi37a commented 3 months ago

same issue here. have anyone found any solution yet for this ?

H0lz3r-x64 commented 2 months ago

same here! >:(

airellzulkarnain commented 2 months ago

Looks like there's still no solution 😢 Edit: Actually my problem is, after installing orchis package from snaps, my firefox themes is changed, but not quite right, i use the macos tweaks but, this is what i got in firefox image

In Chromium i can do some workaround and use system title bar and border, but found nothing like that in firefox image

fildunsky commented 2 months ago

Yep, annoying issue. I have to remove this theme, unfortunately...
