Dark mode theme is seen as system light mode #467

Even with a dark theme, system mode is considered light mode, and apps like Firefox or Chrome set light mode when the setting is system mode.

Snap or Flatpak version app?

romontei commented 3 years ago

Snap ! Other dark themes works fine with system mode.

vinceliuice commented 3 years ago

You need install the snap version of whitesur gtk theme

romontei commented 3 years ago

What do you mean ? The Connect WhiteSur theme to your Snap apps part ?

Using ./tweaks.sh -s ?

It's already done but there is no effect.

Snap version did not updated by the maintainer ( not me ) ( because I don't know how to make snap app ), which is can't install normally, so I suggest you to use the normal version of firefox (not the snap one)

It seems that by using the Impish version instead of the official snap version of Firefox, the theme works in Firefox.

But I don't think that's a real solution for this behavior. It means that Chromium cannot work with the theme because it is only available as a Snap app on the Ubuntu App Store.

Hi All

I'm having the same issue in flatpak application (e.g. Remmina, VSCode) and in system applications (e.g. Gnome Extensions).

Edit:
Sorry, I should have troubleshooted this more, a full restart fixed the issue with system application apparently.
Flatpak issue is probably due to the lack of a flatpak theme installed =/
