This is probably because you are using version 42 of GNOME, while this theme has been optimized for version 40 to date. There is a similar problem in Fedora Silver Blue And you need a sassc package Try this and then install the theme: sudo apt install sassc libglib2.0-dev-bin

I am on the latest version of Pop OS (Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS x86_64) and was receiving the same error.

I installed libxml2-utils and that fixed the issue for me
