So on a Legacy Bios Fedora Kinoite install I have it working. I set the dir to /boot/grub2/themes.

But does someone know where the dir should bee on EFI Bios?

Also would it harm to change the default location, so that this script works on all systems with read-only /usr/ directory too?

The file locations are the same. Fixed the script, it works on Fedora Kinoite.
