Team 22 ("Team 17')

We think that storyboard 6 contains the most usable, interesting, and unique idea. The other ideas have been done before in some capacity, and all of us agree that we'd like to see storyboard 6 actually be built. We project the difficulty with this project is figuring out the Uber/Lyft algorithms, but It is very useful. The scavenger hunt idea is also interesting, but it lacks a clear problem and vision. As for the office hour idea, I think it shows promise if targeted to people who don't know the campus (freshman, visitors, etc.). I'd focus on the temporary aspect, think Shoutkey, where you can set a beacon and quickly send out an email and link to a list of people showing your location.

This seems like it can just be done with google calendar since it already integrates with maps. How will this be worth using a stand alone website vs a built in app.

How would you get the data for these predictions? This seems like insane amounts of data needing to be collected considering all the different variables.

This kind of functionality is already built into most smartphones. For example iphones can share your exact location for extended periods of time.

These storyboards are hilarious. I’m not sure what problem this app is solving other than saving people from reading the syllabus for office hour location? Maybe I’m not reading it right.

Definitely a great idea. A lot of times, uber/lyft drivers will give you tips on how to avoid surge pricing, but having that information available in an app would be awesome

The setting shows LAX where they would be sharing their location, however a lot of times at the airport network goes down Just be aware that in crowded places network/internet does become slower Also how do you address security issues such as in stalking? Otherwise, incredibly useful app and would totally use it to find my friends in crowded places

What is the difference between this and googleMaps? Also, will it be done by algorithms or by crowd sourcing data?

I'm sorry that it was hard to understand this storyboard. Here's an alternative version of a storyboard: http://imgur.com/tI75u09 The idea was: a person not familiar with campus would not know where to go. So TA's and Profs can set up office hours on this app; afterwards, students can look at the map on the app to see exactly where the office hours are at

K5 - SoDoge - Team 23

Idea #1 - TA office hour map Good idea because it's needed by students so you'll always have a high user base. It could be improved with exporting select hours to a calendar if you so choose to add this.

Idea #2 - Uberfare Good idea because it innovates an already working solution. I think if you could make it connect to uber and add it as a functionality then it would be even better.

Idea #3 - Pin Location Doesn't facebook/messenger already give you a pin to your own specific location? how would this idea compete with that?

Idea #4 - Shortcuts This is already done by google maps "walking". It will find the shortest route if you're on foot, so how does this compete with google maps walking

Idea #5 - Scavenger Hunt This idea is basically geo-cache, so how does this compete with that already existing and large community app. You could make this original by allowing someone to customize their own scavenger hunt themselves and share it with friends.

Idea #6 - Marco Polo This idea tells us you are giving a location finder to friends but how does this compare to pinning someone's location? If you are playing marco polo or hide and seek as well, doesn't that defeat the purpose of hiding? Revise idea maybe?

Idea #7 - Video game finder It's a cool idea because your target audience is large since many people play video games. The idea itself is not very original because it functions like tinder, how does this app distinguish itself from many apps that work like this?

IDea #8 - Weather geo I think it's a cool idea for people that want to go somewhere sunny. This idea is a little strange because in the storyboard the person could just drive somewhere but weather in regions are usually more than just a drive away. Probably re-define your user's needs for this app to encompass a greater use range. Elaboration and adding functionality would make it cooler
