I vote no,

As the third of my replies in these series of issues, I do not think this is a good idea at all. It is my opinion and recollection of the past, that the previous politics channel did not work as intended, instead of offering a place for political chat; it offered a place for it to grow, and eventually spread everywhere in our discord group and was then removed.

I also recall that, even with the couple days we had the 2016 US Presidential election channel up, (also including the ability for Jon to talk in it) we got a taste of the leakage that a channel which offers political chat brings to lounge.

For these reasons, I vote no.

Definite no.

I can see people bringing those issues out the channel and into other places that it doesn't belong. The other times we let that channel exist, it didn't work at all. I get the feeling that allowing it now will cause more harm than good.
