Community Suggested Emotes & Discussion about Unused Emotes

Hello, before I begin:

Vote Thumbs Up/Down if you support/do not support the idea of having community suggested emotes. Note - If you vote thumbs up without replying, I will assume you are aligned with the idea I have outlined below:

To discuss in more detail,

I believe we should have a text channel, open to the community where the members of the discord group can place their ideas for an emote for the discord. We can take a group of ideas, and announce a poll with options for the suggested emotes there. From said poll, we can take a couple of the victorious emote ideas and forward them to commissioners/volunteers who would be willing to make said ideas a real emote for the discord group.

We can recommend ideas to be DN-related, however I do not believe that our emotes should be restricted to DN. We can encourage people to provide their own actual emotes, instead of just an idea of one (this is highly desirable in fact, in skips the need of finding somebody to do the art).

Now, to continue with the second subject of this topic.

Unused Emotes.

As you all know there is a limit to the amount of emotes we can have in our group, and we are I believe ~3 emotes off of the maximum, so in order to implement community suggested emotes, we would need to tackle this.

I'm not sure exactly on this, but earlier in the mod-discussion room, somebody brought up that we don't have a need for betterttv emotes, as there is a betterttv discord bot that can provide them(?) Somebody will need to clarify this.

In addition, I believe, if it is possible to extract some emote-usage data from either Vahr's bot or Comphus's bot, we should look at this in order to decide which emotes should be cut from the tree. (If possible, we could post the data in this topic and then poll the lowest X emotes). If it isn't possible to gather this data, we need to analyze every emote we have in our server and do some quick votes. (If somebody could provide a picture of the emotes we currently have, that would be great).

I would like to set the deadline of this discussion as at December 6th Midnight PST.

Arman suggested we make a poll asking the community what their favorite server emote is.

We can use this to narrow down what we should remove in order to implement community suggested emotes. (stickypoll pick 10 or something for the community).

we can have community suggested ones but i would think it would be great to have most of them dn related. although we are mainly a community server for the people who play dn, having the uniqueness of dn related emotes would be dank

and reguarding the bttv thing, those are additional emotes on top of the 50 server only emotes we have on discord

with a bttv 5$ a month subscription we can have 25 extra custom approved emotes that are global, rather than the 50 custom local ones discord allows us. these are the ones that i would like to have relate to dn the most, and the 50 local ones can be anything
