Roadmap #264

Before Creating the Enhancement Request

Is your feature request related to a problem?

I would like to know if this app would be able to have a roadmap implemented for end users to see what issues have priority and what features are being planned/worked on.

Describe the Solution you'd Like

I feel like having some sort of priority or roadmap for issues and FRs could inspire more confidence in the project from people who are concerned about it being closed source, as a map of "when we would consider open source" could be put on the roadmap, or some other important features. I can't think of any at the moment so thats the example I used, but anything could be used.

Describe Alternatives you've considered

You could not have a roadmap or priority list. This is fine as it is your project, and I'll hold no ill will toward you. I'm mostly just curious to see what this project has in store for the future and if I should be recommending it to friends as a solution for being able to play Roblox on Linux x8664 at this time.

Additional context

we dont really have an internal roadmap, and most features have already been implemented so it would mostly be bugfixes

"when we would consider open source" could be put on the roadmap

sober wont be able to become open source for the foreseeable future

sober wont be able to become open source for the foreseeable future

I'd definitely like some clarification on why that is. With the prevalence of Roblox account theft, I'm understandably a little worried about downloading a closed source unofficial client.

tunis4 commented 2 months ago

it is necessary to prevent abuse by exploiters, if sober starts getting used as an exploiting tool roblox would block it immediately

@caramelpony I'll be honest I'm just using a throwaway account. Theyre really easy to set up, and if a game requires you to have robux or whatever its probably not even worth playing lol.
