I have always loved this mod for its ability to play music fitting for certain situations, but the issue I always had with it is that I had to set up a custom song pack, and getting songs has always seemed like a moral-grey area to me, getting mp3 for certain songs isn't always that simple when legality is concerned.
The Music Player mod by HyCraftHD circumvents this issue by using URLs linking to songs/videos on soundcloud, youtube, bandcamp, etc. and streaming them in as music, instead of relying on a custom music pack of mp3 files. The downside is that it cannot change songs/playlists based on context like this mod can.
My idea is that if there is a way for Ambience to hook into the URL streaming function of Music Player, it could make set up easier and less off-putting to many people. A lot of songs I would love to use are posted on soundcloud and youtube, and the various "[platform name] to mp3" converters are a bit sketchy. Implementing this feature would eliminate that problem.
