👋 You're correct to switch to WordPlate 7.0. We are still waiting on johnpbloch/wordpress to tag the new 5.0+ releases.

If you're the following line the composer.json file:

- "johnpbloch/wordpress": "5.0.1",

You should be able to get the latest alpha release.

Version 5.0 seems to be released and is available through Composer.
