Template Sticky Throttle-Cut doesn't work #206

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Which board (stock / gruvin9x / sky9x) are you using?
Stock with Atmega128
Open9x latest SVN

The sticky throttle-cut template doesn't work.
To make it work properly we must correct the custom switch CSC and CSB
On CSC must invert the logic signal from v1>x to v1<x and choose CH14 instead
of PPM4 (obviously something messed this up here) :p
On CSB must invert the logic signal from v1<x to v1>x
On the mixer menu on CH14 THR must be changed to !THR.

With these changes I was able to make it work the way it should..

Better you check all the other templates also. they could have been messed up
for the same reason as the T-Cut was..

"Issues have rained during the night :("

Sorry guys, I've been asked to find bugs and I come from a family of hunters :D

Thank you very much for the time you all put on this so we can play with our
toys safely :)

Hmmm, I think it's still not working as it should.. I mean, the sticky t-cut
itself works, but the switch is reversed. I think the motor should NOT run with
the switch to the back at it's default position. and it runs, and then it cuts
when you flick it.
So, the operation is reversed.. Could be dangerous.

i am not sure if it is safe, to reverse the THR operation in T-Cut and
StickyT-Cut.
because it is this way from beginning of all 9x projects.

in this case i highly recommend to manually (if someone need) to change THR
switch in CH14 to !THR

well, it wasn't like this before some changes made lately. I had it working
and it was working correctly.. the THR switch from factory defaults to the back
and this is the position the T-Cut should be active and the motor disabled.. if
when you turn your radio on the throttle is active then it can be dangerous and
that is what is happening now.. before it worked as it should.. Some changes
might have thrown the templates out of whack. That's why I mentioned that all
the other templates should be checked :)

ok. i tried in er9x and also in ersky. it is in current way.

do you take this change on yourself? I do not! Lot of fingers :)

bdw: default flying position is all switches back (if something goes wrong
quickly switch everything to back)
if there is a need to use t-cut on TX power up, we can set inverted TRH switch
warning.

Well, the radio tells you to turn the switch off at startup as it's default
position.. I would expect that to be the safe position, and not the posiiton
where the motor will run.. it's DANGEROUS.
I can't do anything else but warn for this, which i did..
I wash my hands from it now.. I won't have any cut fingers or worse on my
conscience.. :)

I just flashed the release version with templates to my radio, and yes it's
always been THR ON to activate T-CUT. What jhsa saw was likely because of the
broken template.

yeah, I just checked eepe and companion. they've all been wrong since the
beginning.. By default the radio tells you to put the THR switch to the back.
this should be the safe setting. And the motor should NOT start running with
the switch in that position.
if the motor is on you turn the radio on, turn the model on, for some reason
hit the throttle stick, you will have a model out of control in your hands.
literally..
Anyway, I know I'm safe. feel sorry for the ones who don't :)
As far as I'm concerned, case closed..
