Currently it is difficult to manually add VI package dependencies as the package names we can select from don't match the friendly names shown in VIPM and there doesn't appear to be an easy way to get the required package name from VIPM.
E.g. searching for LUnit in VIPM returns:

You need to know the actual package name is "astemes_lib_lunit"
