Add horizon.tv to xot for UPC subscribers #369

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
horizon.tv offers live streaming television for UPC subscribers. This means you
can watch tv online.

The following plugin is needed for the site to work on a webbrowser: Winevine
DRM, and the flash plugin.
As the content is copyrighted, users need to login with their 'mijn upc'
account to be able to watch the content.

Hopefully this can be done!

Backup your movie database before you update. It might break the database.

That sucks. Could somebody please try another time with XOT-Uzg.v3 and then
post both a XBMC debug log and uzg(plugin).log?

I probably will then also need a couple more fiddler traces.

Original comment by basrie...@gmail.com on 27 Sep 2012 at 8:08

When i open a stream in XOT-Uzg.v3 it says "een ogenblik..." en keeps loading
all the time.

Here are the debug logs.. If you need more info, ask me!

Status is unchanged. I need some more Fiddler data of the HTTPS streams.
Preferably of more than 1 channel.

Ok, I managed to get a bit further at the moment. I did manage to get the
actual streams locations that are being using. BUT, the bad thing is that they
use Widevine (http://www.widevine.com/) codecs and those are not (yet)
supported by XBMC. They have DRM and use some dynamic stream technology to send
parts. It's like the m3u8 format that Apple uses (and is supported by XBMC).

I posted a feature request at the XBMC forum here:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=141915. If you really want this, leave
a comment there saying that it would be really nice to have it implemented.

As soon as it is, I can continue here. For now, it's a dead end.

That URL you post is Widevine. It points to an
upc-nl-0001.upc.adaptive.level3.net/upc-nl/0001/01.m3u8 which is Widevine.

If somebody could do a Fiddler trace of the iPad app, it would be nice. Just
setup Fiddler is a proxy on a PC an have the iPad use that PC as proxy.

app to work with tinyproxy (at home) so i can watch tv at work (lol ;). But so
far it errors out on the "GET http://localhost:20001/key" requests i think.

Here is a update, somebody is creating something for UPC Horizon on Plex.
The website is:

And here you can find his code on github:

Let me know if this was helpfull

That topic is about a DLNA client. It's for streaming media from a pc to the
Horizon box and vice versa. UPC recommends Twonky for it.. It has nothing to do
with the HorizonTV website.
DLNA is supported by Ubuntu.

So I could create a channel, but it won't playback at the moment.

It's on hold until there is a non-widevine stream available OR XBMC supports
Widevine.

hey guys, I found a iPad app stream link. Maybe you can do something with it. I
tried to play it in VLC but that wouldn't start it. I found the stream with the
free version of CCProxy.

if you it in a file called horizon.strm and then try to play it using XBMC,
does it work?

Original comment by basrie...@gmail.com on 5 Aug 2013 at 7:03

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Too bad, in XBMC it doesn't work eather. Well at least we tried.

Meanwhile I googled the website of Winevine and there I read that it is
possible to implant the DRM of Winevine in an app. So I was already afraid that
this wouldn't work eather.

I also read that Android (and many other systems) are supported. So I think UPC
just can't get the Android app stable enough to release it. Certainly after all
the criticism of the iOS app and the Horizon device, I understand why UPC is
being so careful.
