Set up a second meeting

  • do curious users have to answer to look at the pictures?
  • do curious users have to "engage" (install something) to get the pictures?
• [ ] @virginialonso draw a user workflow
  • identify the different type of users
  • describe what happens for each of them from getting on the website to become "engaged" and how they can be updated when they are "engaged"

• action points: is virginia really working on it yes/no?
• what needs to be done?
• what are the resources that we have and the one that we need?

I had a conversation with Lara Gregorians about this. My latest thinking:

OPTION 1

• website shows a beautiful infinite scrolldown of the story, and why this is special. (How to create a beautiful, meaningful online environment of honest reflections by strangers; why to embrace your own art, why your stories are worth sharing with strangers (what you sent me); how to empower people to share their own reflections through art etc)
• at the end of scrolldown, you have options (a) join the community, (b) download the chrome extension, (c) contact virginia.
• upon clicking 'join the community', new scroll down appears under what looked like the end of the website, which explains that to join the community you first need to answer the questions. show (1) link to the questions, and (2) stats of how many people in the community (i.e. 260, with some example illustrations of things said). it will explain too that when you join the community you get access to weekly hand-drawn illustrations by virginia and friends. you can also send your own illustrations.

I like this because:

• community is still closed to those who have been honest/brave to share their answers with strangers!
• still conveys the point and shows why this is interesting. you can access some example drawings but you still need to give back in order to receive

notes:

• no app in this option as illustrations wouldn't be open
• there should still be a newsletter as i think it's always useful

OPTION 2

• website shows a beautiful infinite scrolldown of the story, and why this is special. • 'join the community', new scroll down appears under what looked like the end of the website, and asks you (a) answer questions [yes/no]. It shows the stats of how many people in the community. If person clicks no, then they can still download the app, and show link to app + newsletter + chrome extension again. (this should be re-thought a bit I think)

I like this because:

• it's very focussed around making it big; unlike option 1 this is targeted at a wider audience; having many more people looking at the end content, empathizing with the group of people who did want to share...
• it's easier to share + to people to love it. it's easier to convey the message (or any messsage!) if the channel is open

notes:

• the app would show 1 random drawing every day; the newsletter would work more or less how it works now, perhaps bi-weekly..
• chrome extension works for both!

OPTION 3

• we scrap everything and just create a chrome extension/app (+ the website which only explains what we do). this way FoV just becomes a chrome extension where short answers are collected and we use this as a replacement for the current survey. the app would show you some of these illustrations that are shown on the chrome extension too. thoughts?

I like this because

• it's simple, and it's very different to what we have so far!
