I heard the mouse does not work on this phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqqEGTrpz1A

Someone mentioned that this might require flashing a custom rom altogether, and I'm not aware if anyone has created such a rom Reference for discussion - https://github.com/virresh/matvt/issues/54

Unfortunately, not an expert on roms and such customizations, and have zero experience with a flipphone. Keeping this issue open in case someone who has more knowledge can work on it.

The issue is that the Sonim phone doesn't have an ok button. It uses the enter button on the dpad. I forked the code and changed that part. Clicking works on my XP5s. Here's the link to the APK: https://github.com/Dominik-von-Burg/matvt/suites/10935092269/artifacts/553084993

I don't have a xp5 to test it. It might work on the xp5 as well.

Ploni7 commented 1 year ago

Well I happen to have the xp5s put on the app over a year ago works perfectly fine. I was thinking of getting the new xp5plus which came out last summer but I heard that the mouse app doesn't work on it. So I appreciate the fact that you tried helping but the information on the xp5s doesn't help me. If you find any more info that you feel will help I'm willing to listen. Thank you.

@Dominik-von-Burg Do you have a copy of the APK?

Dominik-von-Burg commented 1 year ago

The build expired. Here's a new link: https://github.com/Dominik-von-Burg/matvt/suites/15187717131/artifacts/867862993

It looks like the link is no longer active. Any chance you could post it up again? I'd like to try that apk with the PLUS model and see if it works. I'm doubting too much will have changed between the S and PLUS.

This one should work. Good luck!

Thanks!

No luck so far. Can't see a save option for the boss key so that can't be changed and clicking on the Mouse Icon tab just crashes the app. Unfortunately, I do not have the coding knowhow to fix those issues right now.

Tried enabling Disable Boss Key, but that seemed to not have any effect.

I uninstalled your fork and installed the current MATVT (matvt-app-release-v1.0.6), but ended up running into the same issues. My first thought was maybe it's a resolution problem as far as not seeing the save option for the boss key, but I'm not sure on that. XP5800 was 320x432 whereas the 5900 is 240x320. Kind of doubting that would cause the crash when selecting the Mouse Icon tab/dropdown.

Thought for someone more tech savvy than myself. The XP5plus' included browser does have its own virtual mouse. As crappy as that (permission hoarding) browser is, maybe its virtual mouse could either be repurposed or at least be of use in figuring out how to get around that issue with Android 11.
