Introduction: Welcome to the Process Loop Component Lab for the current and pneumatic converter developed at CoEP. The main purpose of this laboratory is to make the students aware of the current and pneumatic converter used in the industry. These components are the backbone of the industry. The working and configuration of these converters require high-level skills and due to the cost of these instruments, no college can afford to have these for experimentation. Moreover, the calibration and maintenance required to continuously keep these instruments up and running are also tedious. This is an attempt to virtualize these instruments for thorough understanding.

Objective:

  1. Configure the current and pneumatic converter understudy
  2. Analyse the effects of configurable parameters on the performance of the converter under test
  3. Select the appropriate component as regards span, linearity, accuracy, and damping for the application.
  4. Identify the faults in the converter and rectify the same.

Target Audience: Undergraduate students of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Chemical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering branches. Post-graduate students of Process Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical (Design) fluid power, and Chemical Engineering.

@vaibhavkurhe27, could you share the names that you are planning for the other two labs of the same series so that we can plan the URL accordingly. We need to be sure of the lab names for URL, analytics collection, etc, and hence would like to be clear before hosting the labs.

1) Process loop component for current and pneumatic converter

2) Process loop component for high low selector and alarm annunciator

3) Process loop component for transmitter and tank applications

4) Process loop component and control valve for different applications

5) Basics of pneumatic components

@pavanchow Please tell me what exactly you want in a broad area. Because I didn't get such a point in any of the hosted labs. So I am not aware of this.

This issue also is used to host labs and their experiments that have been migrated to Pretest and Posttest questions ".js" format to ".json" format and updated .yml file. Updated experiment name style.
