Cannot Transliterate Roman Vedic Text #191

Open UltraGamerine opened 2 years ago

UltraGamerine commented 2 years ago

Aksharamukha seems to not support Romanized Vedic text with accents

Input - (Auto Detected - Roman(IAST))

yád aṅgá dāśúṣe tuvám ágne bhadráṃ kariṣyási távét tát satyám aṅgiraḥ

Output - Devanagari

य्áद् अङ्ग्á दाश्úषे तुव्áम् áग्ने भद्र्áं करिष्य्áसि त्áव्éत् त्áत् सत्य्áम् अङ्गिरः

If transliterating among various "Accent schemes" turns out be a complex task, an option with 'removed accents' could be introduced.

@UltraGamerine Is there a table somewhere to show how the accents are marked and their equivalent rendering in Devanagari?

AFAIK How Vedic texts are marked in the Roman text appears to differ from publication to publiation.

@UltraGamerine what should be the correct Devanagari output?

á and é are the issues in the above verse. perhaps others with ॔ acute accent x0954 also?

is the coding URW Palladio ?

eureka, this is in GRETIL encoding

http://gretil.sub.uni-goettingen.de/gretil/1_sanskr/1_veda/1_sam/avs_acu.htm

a udatta á
e udatta é u udatta ú anusvara ṃ

I find/replaced the above 4 with udatta and anusvara and got the following:

ya॔᳚d aṅga॔᳚ dāśu॔᳚ṣe tuva॔᳚m a॔᳚gne bhadra॔᳚mं kariṣya॔᳚si ta॔᳚ve॔᳚t ta॔᳚t satya॔᳚m aṅgiraḥ

IAST to Dev gave the following, seems correct?

Need to add Roman (GRETIL) encoding to close #86 and #191, two birds with one stone.
