Hi , My idea is to connect local grocery and local neighbours with each other in this tough times and keep a track of your daily needs and find your supplies availability nearby I have named my idea as "Get your Grub" The Aspects I cover:

Get Grocery, something similar to this? https://getgroceryhero.com/Grocery-Hero-Canada-5ab1d424ead74b82a77cac74bb43eb61

I was interested in any of the last 3 ideas:

  1. Finding or creating temporary sources of income for affected Canadians

    • Daycare workers, restaurant staff and all unemployed workers to receive a stipend/or can be employed (2000$ that the govt in giving + 500$) to support elderly, vulnerable with groceries and maybe in testing centers etc.. Need for protective équipment will be important such as the below:
  2. Finding ways to support essential service providers and health care professionals sustain their services
**Idea is merging 2 affected industries:

    • Hotels rooms for medical professionals to reduce the spread/and risk to families
    • Supporting tech companies and manufacturers to produce masks, protective equipment: New gear that don't harm the skin/faces/hands of doctors and nurses
    • AI/Robo Doctors in testing centers and in public spaces, at essential work places that are still open- to be used in all provinces in Canada (also Ventilators) to avoid spread, early diagnosis, and prognosis**
  3. Supporting the most vulnerable communities (ex. senior citizens, those with underlying conditions, etc.)

    • Use closed public spaces: Gyms/Libraries/Community Centers as temporary shelters

  1. Finding ways to encourage people to follow the required safety measures
    • Idea: an app where you create an avatar, it tracks your gps, think waze, and it tracks your ability to social distance. if you get close to another avatar on the map, think other cars on waze, you 'lose points' and the more you stay 'isolated' you gain points, you can use these points for gift cards to local services, or a x% off purchase at local services (food/grocery/delivery/other for when pandemic subsides?) the app is almost like a real life game, people opt in to play, 'avoid eachother'

other idea for this - the government incentivizes people buy providing a trackable piece of hardware, think tile chips, it reports locaiton back and if there is no (or minimum) social distancing infractions, the goverment provides monetary incentive (or tax benefit) to be claimed at conclusion of pandemic?

other idea for this, you opt in to be a red dot on a map, you can then use the app to see other red dots that are 'outside of the geofenced 'home base''. your red dot does not show up when you are home (so your house address isint compromised). people can then look at the map and see 'oh there are like 100 red dots at this grocery store, i think ill wait until later.

  1. Supporting the most vulnerable communities (ex. senior citizens, those with underlying conditions, etc.) TL;DR - log an interaction between a person and another person or logical entity (location etc) to then proactively alert if one of the parties of the interaction falls ill of covid. details: (this is the one i thought the most about) -Idea: users self register on a portal, auto generate a barcode/qr code, users can log an interaction manually on a website, or by scanning a barcode/qr code. I can register my mom's house as a location, print a barcode, paste it on her door, when people visit her, they can scan the code, if they dont have their own matching code, they are asked to self register with an email account and provide some information. in the event that visitor falls ill, the system can proactively alert my mom that someone who tested positive for covid has visited her in the past x days and that she is at risk. this could be used by the healthcare/homecare field as an extra step of caution, i know they have scheduling already, but logging interactions between workers, and 'consumer facing' so you and I could opt in to have codes and we can log our interactions with locations. businesses can print out a code, or users can log that they went to on the website/webapp, (or scan at the location, time permitting) ... it could be implemented as mandatory in some organizations, to scan in to a building, to a meeting room, think large manufacturers like amazon or car plants or other large manufacturing plants that are making PPE, they can scan and track interactions, then log that they have fallen ill, and then the system can look at who else could have been exposed based on interacitons to proactively alert. all automated. could be done via servicenow platform, could also potentially done on other stacks,

HI Its not like get grocers. The user will register themselves in the web portal either as a consumer, small grocer, convenience store or as a medical facility(Can add more). the user will just have to fill in a basic form and our program will filter out the basic needs for that particular user for eg

the app will ask what is your usual breakfast: and user replies egg bread sausages and so our program will filter out the most needed items and will create a list on the users dashboard eggs - check availability milk - check avilblity

the "Check availability" will then look for all the grocery stores(small or big) for wether the item is available or not. On the other hand grocery owners will have the ability to upload the items and qty they have. In case there is no supply found nearby the App will now show the option for "Send Alert/ Request Alert" In this case all the users and grocers in the nearby locations which are enrolled in the App will recieve a notification and will let them know that this user is in need for this item. Now not only grocery owner but even neighbours can donate stuff . And with each donated item they will receive certain credits.

The App will also ask information on any kids or elderly living in the house. and will prioritize accordingly.

The App will limit request till 1 community only this will help in generating data and analyzing the community needs. The App will also send notifications to user for any positive covid cases and the origin and if the user is in danger or not with a possibility of catching the virus from 1 to 10

Looks like we all have really cool ideas. but some where or the other we share some common factors. @CornFlakers Since you mentioned you like more of ideas and thought process can you give us some feedback or may be find out ways to generate a new idea based on all the above mentioned. Your's and mine have some similarities. may be we can add and combine all .

Hey, So maybe for the grocery idea, it's like a real live asset tracking app, or like, the consumer builds a request of items they need. And then they get an alert from a nearby store when there is a store that has a match for the items being requested. Each store would need to scan in items and items would need to be normalized. The issue is that ordering groceries for curbside pickup is ok and all, but frequently stores are out of product and people who are vulnerable miss out on items. If items were set aside for orders immediately on receiving, think stacked on a pallet per person, then we could have true contactless groceries with high availability.

Supply chain transparency, retailers would be able to show what is available at vendors and the consumer would alnost be the purchasing agent.

Assuming large retailers all have a purchasing department that decides what and when to order items, if they could make their decisions based on real time consumer demand then shortages of items could potentially be avoided?

I like this check availability thing. It's frustrating to go somewhere thinking they have stock of what you need but then they don't so having visibility into stock, asset tracking, and supply chain transparency. What store has this item, as opposed to going to each stores website and trying to see if its listed as in stock. I know you can check stock on walmart.ca but how accurate is it idk.

It would require retailers to maintain accurate and real time stock information, which would need integrations to receiving shipments, scanning in items, vs. Register purchases.

I am thinking, say any item in walmart can be shipped to a store within 14 days. So make an online catalog of items, everything is "in stock" you make your order, and it ships "within 14 days" items that are perishable are flagged and allocated last for optimal shelf life etc. This order gets sent and queued up to the purchasing department of local store, then they can make better informed orders, and on receipt, user is notified and groceries immediately set aside and alerted for pickup.
