We decided to create an AI app compatible with Alexa/ google.

• medical professionals and local community residents can register
• users can "post a need" and an alert will be send to the registered uses based on their postal code.
• Need will be posted as a notification/push notification to the users of same locality.
• with each posted notification there will be an option of "Volunteer".
• The volunteer is a person who will help in fulfilling the need. the requester can give tips to the volunteer which can help them financially. (Totally optional)
• Users can rate their volunteers.
• person who have volunteered most times will build a reputation and get high ratings
• Incase the user has not accessed the app in a while we will send a push notification with messages like "Hey Are you okay? We are worried about you.. Do you need something let us help you" etc...

-What all needs you can post examples

• I need eggs(Checks nearby availability or requests volunteer)
• I need a room for myself i am a nurse
• My child needs stationary for his/her project
• a virtual coffee date.
• I need formula milk
• I need money (Suggest link to apply for EI , other benefits Or do a web search for all the work from home income source)
• I feel lonely (Do a phone search maybe and suggest "Looks like you haven't talked to your college friend for a while. Why not chat about those college days)

***Additional Features could be included

• list of features can extend to allow private store owners also
• compatiblity with Estimote/ fitbit
• sending daily jokes
• Tracking the sleep time and giving suggestions

What is needed?

• app must be available easily to all users via web/ mobile..
• should have offline support.
• Location services
• Tracking of how the requester will pay to the volunteer (In special scenarios )

app idea 'help the essential workers' high level themes -

1. As a community member, I want to help essential workers
2. As an essential worker, I have needs that I am having a hard time being met
3. As an essential worker, I need groceries that I don't want to expose other shoppers to myself potential infections
4. As an essential worker, I may need childcare or other adhoc needs, or a virtual coffee date, or etc.

Idea being, help essential workers, have essentials post their needs, have other essentials off shift be able to assist, or relate, or provide community to lean on. Have potentially idle community members who want to help also be able to make a volunteer profile to assist essential workers with various tasks.

Can we include Google Home and Alexa? Our tech should/can be compatible with IOS and android as well. This way we don't leave anyone out :) Also Google is already tracing people's social distancing using available tracking information that users provide through google maps- so we can integrate the info as needed !

Interesting find:

Daily check. With a focus on the elderly population, My Day for Seniors on Alexa will now include COVID-19 screenings coming in the form of daily questionnaires. The system is able to communicate a possible case of COVID-10 back to a designated caregiver or family member. “Now more than ever, advanced technology has the opportunity to provide support and engagement for people who would have been hard to reach even 5 years ago," Dr. Randall Williams, founder of My Day for Seniors, said in a statement. "My Day for Seniors is just one way we can help flatten the curve while providing support to seniors and peace of mind to loved ones.”

A couple of thoughts on volunteers as they are the main factor to drive the business

a)Recruit and allocate volunteers on a demand basis, varying from region to region.

• Target on allocating volunteers to meet regions with highest demands, such as long care homes, hospitals
• The app needs some algorithms to connect users with the closest volunteers to reduce time cost and transportation cost (We can leverage the Uber/Lyft strategy about how they connect with local drivers)

b) Mandatory training to onboard the volunteers

• Health check for their eligibility to be in the program. Similar to Uber, if someone would like to be a Uber driver, s/he needs to present his driver license and pull out driving history as a proof of his safety driving
• PPEs are required, like basic masks and gloves when they deliver the services
• Waiver forms to sign

c) Motivation programs a)Optional tips b)Reference letter

• Say if a volunteer fulfills a certain number of days of voluntary service and receives positive feedbacks from the user, we can offer them a reference letter that they can use to support their job application later. This will help those laid-off workers during the pandemic to have something valuable add onto their resumes
• As this is a non-profit service, we can propose the local government to be part of the support in the reference letter writing, to make it look stronger for the participants who would like to leverage it to support their job application later on.

Roles: CEO, User, App Developer/Data Engineer, Volunteer, and Logistics Representative I would expect section b) will take a bit more time than others, as it is going to talk about how the algorithm works in the app. So roughly

a) Intro & Challenge we address (CEO, 30secs) Slide 1-3 b+c) Who benefits and how the app works + Showcase the website (User + App Developer/Data Engineer, together 90 secs) Slide 4- 9 d) Explain how the app addresses the challenges (Volunteer, 30 secs) Slide 10 e) Resources required to implement + Ending (Logistics Representative, 30 secs) Slide 11

Personas: John: A student, he works at home depot and his job hours have decreased due to COVID.

Nikita: A single mother of a 3 year old who is currently working from home. She is working with a private firm as a contractor on an hourly basis.

Jen: A nurse, she works in XYZ hospital and is currently working with other medical professionals that are taking care of the COVID patients. She hasn't gone home to prevent the virus spreading to her family. She is working 24/7 to treat the patients.

So we could use them in our speech to describe the challenges we solve
