banner images redesign #19

Split off from #16 - this is just for the banner images.

We want them: randomized, cleaned up (misaligned by a few pixels), and the CSS needs some more work. Feel free to add more suggestions for the banner here.

I have added a hover-over publication title feature, but it will break with new random titles since positions are hard-coded at the moment.

My suggestion is to move the banner into a column layout - that should help with how elements flow on the page I think

I have addressed this issue - it now just displays truncated titles and should scale decently for some different display sizes.
