fix(core): checkResponse crash when Request body is already used

Added a test case that reproduced the issue together with a fix:

• add await on response.text(), causing the error to happen outside of the catch.
• add a check for response.bodyUsed: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Response/bodyUsed.
