Option to minimize keyboard #54

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to any application that supports typing. Eg: Memo
2. Type a few lines. There's no way to minimize the keyboard like you can with
the Samsung keypad (am using a galaxy tab)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Looking for a key (like the one in SAmsung keypad that looks like a keyboard
with an arrow key on the bottom left corner) that can minimize the keyboard

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.2 on Galaxy Tab Froyo (stock install)

Please provide any additional information below.

Use the global back arrow to collapse the keyboard

This would be especially useful on the Kindle Fire (which I'm using right now,
with Hacker's Keyboard), There's no hardware back key, and the keyboard
obscures the soft keys (so does stock). The only workaround I see at the moment
is to switch back to stock keyboard and collapse it.

I've added support for configurable keyboard swipe gestures, by default "swipe
down" closes the keyboard.

Try v1.28rc13 or later from
http://code.google.com/p/hackerskeyboard/downloads/list, and please let me know
if this works for you. See also
http://code.google.com/p/hackerskeyboard/issues/detail?id=127 .
