Feature request: "elastic tabstops" #226

I wish all text editors would implement elastic tabstops, because they
could resolve the tabs vs. spaces debate once and for all.

I'm not sure if this would be better implemented as a plugin or as part of
the core, but it's a feature I've always wanted to be able to use.

Closing this issue as I have decided that implementing it in Editra core would 
not be appropriate.

This functionality would be best handled by a 3rd party plugin if it is still 
wanted.
