Allen Sanderson has a script that kinda sorta does this already. Its attached. The idea is to add a parallel in time option with a count for the number of pieces into which to divide the time axis and then use the start/end frame options to launch multiple visit instances (each one likely its own parallel launch) to run concurrently.
