Post windows when shown doesn't work on Linux. #4640

Describe the bug

I set "Post windows when shown" on the "General" tab of the "Preferences" window and then brought up various windows and it always showed the windows normally on Linux. On Windows, it brought up the windows on the notepad.

Niether 3.0.1 nor current develop branch appear to behave as desired on OSX either.

Worse, as I post windows manually...I don't see anything in the main panel. Thats because the post area is all collapsed. One has to know to go there and drag it up before you see anything posted there.

Adding -noconfig makes it work on OSX

I am unable to duplicate this on my local linux (rhel6) machine, using installed visit 3.1.2. I removed ~/.visit/config and ~/.visit/guiconfig I ran visit 3.1.2, turned on the 'Post Windows when shown' and save settings. I then opened a window, it was posted. I closed visit and reran. My settings were preserved and windows were posted when opened.

Setting this option using develop on my mac (Catalina) seems to work as expected.

This also appears to work as expected when I'm running on Pascal.
