Describe the bug

We are seeing something odd where language pages are showing in English for some members of the team.

This is the page: https://www.visitscotland.com/things-to-do/landscapes-nature/dark-sky-parks-sites

Linked to from an email campaign (e.g. https://www.visitscotland.com/de-de/things-to-do/landscapes-nature/dark-sky-parks-sites?utm_source=marketo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=RM-202401-Email-Coorie%20Connections%20-%20DEU&mkt_tok=NjM4LUhIWi01MTAAAAGQJsE1QdK4hvswkPm9zjHhs4alIuc6hWWvJJ9ZNlx5LPPk9yiI1SAIfYqJzpE4mS4gRnqFNdJ0-0jYCM8M6Kc)

When viewing the page, some members are seeing it in language, while others are seeing it in English.

I have experienced both (it appearing in correct language, and also appearing in English).

Do you have any idea why this would be happening? We are seeing this behaviour for this page in all languages.

We have tested on and off VPN and on multiple browsers (surface pro edge and chrome; iPhone 8 safari; laptop and Edge).

Thanks Ailsa

Hi @jlrhurta whenever you're back in office it would be great if this could be looked at as a priority please. I finish up today but will check in tomorrow afternoon.

Hello @MichaelG-PO

The provided URL is wrong for the German site. In the English channel, the page is dark-sky-parks-sites but for other languages is dark-sky-park-sites (Notice that park is plural just for English)

Since we have a fallback mechanism when a page does not exist in a language, the English Content is provided on a language URL, so the experience is not broken for the website user.

Hi Ailsa,

Please see below from Jose. The issue is caused by a typo in the URL - it’s not actually a bug. Generally speaking URLs should be the same though, aside from language parameters. I’ll find out why it was different in this case - most likely human error.

Thanks,

Michael
