Marriage is an archaic institution that serves to oppress that was originally designed to transfer power and wealth (typically to men) under the guise of a moral platform for sex and a practical platform for socially responsible reproduction. The cool thing to do now is to be happily unmarried. I recommend marking this issue as 'won't fix' or at least 'pending' until a relevant argument is made as to why the effort to produce a pull request should even be made to merge (at least) two people together into a single ref. It is obviously at the discretion of the maintainer, who may hold differing opinions about the conventions of this repository.
