I would recommend you to try to add following ideas in evertech, rather than working on makinmg a new game from scratch.
Character customization: characters can have attire made of 3 objects.
1 headpiece like hat, headset, helmet.
2 chest piece like shirt, armour.
3 leg parts like pants. and they should be allowed to change colours.
You can have two colurs in each of theese object. one primary, which can be changed, and secondary which will be stuck with the attire. (primary changable colour should be used 60-70%, and oter parts should be secondary unchangable colour.)
New tools and equipments:
Weld tool,
One paint tool with changable colours,
Spawn box instead of the physics remote to build and spwn things in. (spawn box will have no-fixed size and no gravity to build things in it. and players can move around in it.)
Slabs instead of boxes only, to build smaller things 0.25 by 1 size.
1 by 1 wheel, 1 by 2 thrusters.
Wings that will slow down the fall by 80%. (wings should only slow our fall, not speed given by thrutsers.) Its size should be fixed, i would recommend 5 by 3.
I recommend to make Propeller with 50% power of thrusters to use for making planes.
Pistons and magnets.
A big platform or track like object should be in the game, it should be 20 by 20 normal blocks wide in the game so that we can build big race tracks on a map.
Scalable trangle/wedges or different angle wedges.
Weapons: New guns, Redesign the mortars.
A futuristic gun with projectiles. (it should take 3 rounds to destroy one normal block, and for glass and wood it should only take one.)
there should be an indestructible block (Or blocks should have features to change thier types only while we are building.)
Mortars should be good with just redesign.
Remove the cannons, or add a cooldown to them.
All the above ones should not eb able to rappid fire.

For designing most of objects in the game, i will recommend you to go with the design like hover engine, with some futuristic look to every object. following are the objects which needs redesign, bearing, connection tool, engine, thrusters, seats, rotation controller (i would recommend you to make it faster and make it similar to scrap mechanic one, not only controlling rotation but pistons too). I will recommend you to use ai image generator to have a basic idea for the designs.
