Several problems in :

People > [some individual] > Identity > Same as > add

-The form takes an unusual long time to load-
... and then it seems to load the wrong class (Thing instead of People). The dropdown menu content shows that the scope of the query is too large. This bug is similar to https://jira.lyrasis.org/browse/VIVO-1771
The French version has English items in it
The English version has French item in it.

Point 3 and 4 taken. I think that is solved by moving the RDF files to firsttime (see VIVO-1921).

Regarding the thing thingie: I don't consider it an i18n issue. Rather it's expected behaviour.

object property that is linking two "Things" together. If you create a faux property - let's say SamePerson - on top of

http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#sameAs and chose foaf:Person as domain and range class respectively

you will achieve the behaviour you have in mind.
