Describe the goal of the project.
The goal of the project is to create a website for non-R users to customize and view famous pieces of art created through ggplot. The users can modify and play around with the aesthetics of the four famous pieces.
Describe the data used or collected, if any. If the proposal does not include the use of a specific dataset, comment on whether the project would be strengthened by the inclusion of a dataset.
Viz Biz will use four famous pieces of art, including Frank Stella’s Lettre sur les sourds et muets II, Barbara Kruger’s Untitled (Your body is a battleground), Wassily Kandinsky’s Composition 8, and Piet Mondrian’s Trafalgar Square. Viz Biz describes their data as “fake data,” which I think can be elaborated on - are you going to create datasets that have information on these four images?
Describe the approaches, tools, and methods that will be used.
Viz Biz is going to use “ready-to-use” packages to create the art pieces in ggplot. I have limited experience in recreating art in ggplot, but I assume there are packages where you can mimic designs and patterns to create these interesting pieces of art. I would love to know more about which packages you will be using and why!
Is there anything that is unclear from the proposal?
The only things unclear from the proposal are what is meant by “fake datasets” and which packages you will be using to create the images. Since you are at the beginning phases of your project, I think it is okay to be unsure of the exact data and packages you will be using, but maybe provide a little more information in those two areas before submitting to Mine.
Provide constructive feedback on how the team might be able to improve their project.
First, I would format your text to be no greater than 80 characters per line so that it is easier for viewers to comprehend your text (in RMD). Next, I would elaborate on the meaning of “fake datasets.” Lastly, I would mention a few packages you will be using and what they do.
What aspect of this project are you most interested in and would like to see highlighted in the presentation.
I am most interested in the ways in which users can modify the images - I would love to know more about how you will do this and what aspects of the art pieces can be modified (e.g., color, shape, size, etc.). I think this is such a great idea!
Provide constructive feedback on any issues with file and/or code organization.
Great work! I love how you bolded the titles of each piece of art and the names of the weeks in your timeline. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!
