Displacement in mm #36

Does U3M contain a definition of the (maximum) displacement amount in mm? As far as I understand, a value of the displacement map can be shifted and scaled with the "offset" and "factor" parameters, which are unitless, so the result is a scalar value as well. Is there a definition how this is supposed to translates to mm in the real word?

Hi @florianwalterassyst, there is no definition, U3M views the displacement value as relative instead of absolute height. You can create a Custom section to add your own information in U3M
