What kind of codec I have to setting?
I install the Mega codec pack basically without any special settings, it's all by default and works fine.
In the codec tab the vokoscreenNG show all codec correctly installed.
This is only for recording not playback.
show only scattered colored rows
What can you do: Resize the Vokoscreen window and force it to resize the video. If no improvement disable hardware encoding.
It should say "disable hardware decoding"
@vkohaupt I already tried to disable hardware decoding from LAV Video window. Moreover I try any combination still in the same LAV Video window. I don't know what else to try. Currently I workaround by other player (VLC, MPC, etc.). Conversely, the Linux version (on my Ubuntu Xenial 16.04.7) perfectly works.
Hi there, I have the exact same problem, also on windows 10.
It helps if you switch to full screen mode with a double click in the middle of the window and then back again? Or if you resize the vokoscreen window?
I've tried both your suggestions, but unfortunately they didn't make a difference.
I have found that it appears to only go wrong for recordings that have been taken from an area. It works fine for fullscreen recordings.
I've tried different aspect ratios and sizes for the area settings and found that if the width is a multiple of 160 pixels (320, 480, 640, 800, etc.) it works fine. From what I can see, any other sizes just show like the below image:
Sorry I didn't say it before, but I really like VokoscreenNG and think it is a very useful tool. I have thought of a nice enhancement, if you're interested. I believe it would be very useful to allow the user to specify custom area sizes in the dropdown next to the Area radio button.
Please share the video here. Then I can see at what resolution this happens.
Here is a shorter version. vokoscreenNG-2023-06-07_16-48-15.zip
Is displayed correctly for me. Hmm.... I see it included in the resolution is an odd values 1022x323 Do tests with even values. And do tests where the values are divisible by 16
I've tried your suggestions, as well as different aspect ratios and sizes for the area setting. As far as I can tell, it only works if the width is a multiple of 160 pixels (320, 480, 640, 800, etc.). The hight seems irrelevant.
This one, with the number of pixels even and a multiple of 16 won't work (336x336) vokoscreenNG-2023-06-08_08-37-55.zip
This one, with the width a multiple of 160 works fine (320x345). The height does not negatively affect the display, i.e. it can be anything. vokoscreenNG-2023-06-08_08-48-01.zip
With the new 3.8.0 the problem should no longer occur.
Many thanks Volker
I can confirm that the problem is fixed.

On Windows 10, if I playback previous saved video with vokoscreenNG then video show only scattered colored rows, while audio work fine. I installed K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, try various settings without success. What kind of codec I have to setting? If I play the same video file with VLC or MPC it work fine. The problem seem to be only on vokoscreenNG embedding player. In the codec tab the vokoscreenNG show all codec correctly installed. Any suggestion is appreciate. Kind regards.
