A very problematic clicking (cracking) sound at the beginning of recording [version 3.7.0] [kubuntu 24.04] #307

I am trying vokoscreen-ng 3.7.0 on Kubuntu 24.04. At the begenning of recording, there is a very annoying and problematic clicking/cracking sound. I guess this problem is reltated to pipwire.

I have attacked a sample video file with a picure of the soudn in Audacity

Any solution

Further notes: 1- The problem appears on Ubuntu 24.04 too. 2- When recoding multiple time using the same instant of Vokoscreen-NG, the clicking (cracking) sound appears only on the first one. 3- On Kubuntu, clicking the volume icon in the system tray after launching Vokoscreen-NG solve the problem. 4- Adjusting the microphone level using command line (as shown below) does not solve the problem. wpctl set-volume @DEFAULT_AUDIO_SOURCE@ .7 && vokoscreenNG

I tried the latest iso for kubuntu 24.04 (18 March 2024), the previous notes (in the previous comment) do not work. The problem appears in all records and opening voice icon in systemtray does not help.

The clicking sound could be reproduced. In the new version 4.2.0, which also contains a level meter for each audio device, the clicking sound has disappeared.

Please install the new version with Flatpak.

Thanks, I tried the Flatpak version 4.2.0 on Kubuntu 24.04 and the clicking noise disappeared.
