In looking at the main page, I just had an idea about that. From the back end, would there be an easy way to sort buildings and figure out whether something like the following is true: buildings in the top quartile (or whatever %) of GHG intensity in year y were z times less likely to report data in year y+1 than buildings in the bottom quartile (or whatever %) of GHG intensity in year y.
I ask because I notice that 8 of the 15 high emitters on the main page are missing recent year(s) data (not just IIT buildings either). That seems like a lot - but maybe it is representative. I just wonder because intuitively, as we’ve said before, if there is no enforcement, high emitters seem especially likely to not report, whereas low emitters might have some incentive (carrot) for going ahead and reporting. An actual statistic confirming our hunch would be cool.
