I am not sure. I am not a font expert either.
There maybe more information about cairo at the cairo website here cairographics.orghttps://www.cairographics.org/
Or try emailing the mailing the gle discussion list
Sorry I could not be of more help.

Hi, is there any more in depth information on how to set up fonts? I want to be able to use the text and write commands to print unicode characters such as maths symbols but the built-in fonts don't seem to support them. For example, the integral sign is not supported. I know I can use latex for this but in general I prefer using unicode characters. Also the tex command doesn't seem to be scaled by a begin scale ... end scale.
I know very little about fonts but is there a way to use system (linux) installed fonts?
Furthermore I get an error when trying to create SVGs that states postscript fonts cannot be used with -cairo. What does this mean?
