yeah.. this is a feature there is a 3A N-mosfet connected to it, so if you want to connect something more power hungry - or simply want to be able to turn on and off a device connect the GND of your thing to G*8 and power to 3v3 or 5v And then make D8 HIGH (it is connected to GPIO15 of the ESP8266 so it is pulled-down by default) Also due to the unfortunate fact that i chose GPIO15, whenever the device boots or wakes up - this pin is shortly pulled down, so the usecases are a bit limited due to this
