Code base should be stripped of dead code

Expected behavior

All kubernetes specific and/or dead code should be stripped from the Solo repository. We can always get code back, but it currently causes confusion and larger binaries.

Please create smaller bugs to capture specific areas of cleanup if necessary

This is mostly done, I have #705 open for that. There e2e is failing in tests that are executing fine before that, but it's reproducible almost every build so I'm trying to figure out the root cause.
