I was told a couple of weeks ago that the dataflow shell would negotiate skipper mode automatically with the dataflow server when appropriate. This may not be true, but I mention it in case there has been a misunderstanding.

@glyn this is not the case at this time. You must define it on CLI in our case. We will keep track of this as we move forward though.
