Drag and Drop Icon - Usability Issues #118

Closed cdodsonvmw closed 2 years ago

cdodsonvmw commented 2 years ago

Over the past few months we have seen some usability issues with the Drag and Drop icon. At first we did not think too much about it but after several more test and asking users what they perceive that icon to do/enable its clear that more than 50% of users are not confident in the purpose of the icon. Some users guess correctly, but also follow is up with statements like "it could also be an action menu". Me being new to VMware (7 mos) I also thought this triggered an action menu. I have added a video that highlights this issue from our previous usability test.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information from me at this time.

Hey there - this is related to the Angular datagrid, so can you recreate your issue in the NG repo? https://github.com/vmware-clarity/ng-clarity/issues

It will also be helpful to have a developer create a stackblitz demo of how you're using the datagrid, so we can see some code, and we also need to know what version of Clarity you're using.

I don't see drag and drop documented on the website, so I want to be sure this is something we still support: https://clarity.design/documentation/datagrid/
