This should go in the topic on what happens when you deploy a VCH, which is tracked in https://github.com/vmware/vic/issues/1527.

Some quotes from Massimo's doc:

The VCH contains a “VIC Endpoint VM” that acts as a proxy: it accepts docker commands and it translates those commands into vSphere API calls and vSphere infrastructure constructs.
The endpoint VM acts as a NAT between the external world and the inner 172.16.0.0/16 docker defined network.
