The use of NFC cards to represent the use of a metrocard for a subway is something that would not be as fun in digital form compared to actually tapping a card

Having the LEDs represent the movement of a subway along its routes and using the LCD display as a ticker analogous to those actually on subways would be more impressive in-person than through a screen

buttons can be pressed to cause changes in the board, such as allowing for a train represented by a traveling pattern across multiple LEDs to progress or "swap routes"
