Before 2023.05.1 --- fix current master branch

• [ ] Make sure that all deleted branches are deleted from CI/docs workflows: see CI and docs

Binder works in principle, but it's just over capacity most of the time. @gerritgr got it to work once.

@AndreaVolkamer I cut the next release 2023.05.1 & am waiting now for the conda bot to open the PR for the next conda release. I think this is independent of anything that you are doing for the 2023.05.2 release, so do go ahead even if the conda package is not cut, yet, by the time you want to go ahead.

Did anyone go through the website properly to check if things are still as they should be?
