First off, awesome project!

Question.....seeming as you guys are using cutting edge stuff, have you checked out rethinkdb.com as an alternative to mongodb?

ryanstout commented 10 years ago

@cj Actually, rethink has been on my radar. When I started volt, there wasn't a way to monitor changes. They have that now. Rethink will probably be the next to be supported after mongo+oplog tailing.

:+1: for having it on the radar. Brilliant project!

:+1: the next big thing in ruby for sure

:+1: great, what about oauth2 (omniauth) integration ?

ryanstout commented 10 years ago

Yea, omniauth would be great to integrate. Once the new reactive stuff is done, I'm probably going to look for someone to do the auth gem. The plan is to have an official authentication gem that gets included by default. (That has templates for signup, login, etc...)

Hi, I'm one of the founders @ RethinkDB, and I support this message

@ryanstout -- please ping us any time if you need help with anything. There are lots of exciting things we're going to ship wrt changefeeds, so you might want to ping me to collaborate on the implementation.

musajoemo commented 9 years ago

 +1 for ArangoDB. ArangoDB would be killer. That would bring in an open source graph database. Being able to use a free and powerful multi-model nosql database would help Volt grow in popularity.
