Synology NAS not visible and not saved in Network Drives list #1449

Hi, I'm not a unix-guy, I'm using RPi3 + Volumio only via WebUI.

I have RPi3 + IQaudIO Digi+. Volumio version: volumio-2.348-2017-12-22-pi.img That's connected via wire to tp-link wireless repeater and setup for automatic IP. Wireless router is AirPort Extreme.

Volumio Network Settings show up Network status as: "Wired, IP address: x.x.x.x; Online: green check mark". Wireless Networking is OFF. Hotspot is OFF.

Synology NAS DS416 has the static IP and is discoverable by both name(no spaces, titleCase) and IP address. Both CIFS and NFS are enabled for guest and named accounts, setup for read/write access.

Volumio "My Music" setup page does not show this drive under Network Drives group. "+Add New Drive" button does not list the drive, "Rescan" button does not help, "No Network Drive Found".

When adding the drive by "+Add New Drive" button with either IP address or Name, it does not appear in the list of Network Drives. The list remains empty. However the NAS after the adding appears to be listed by it's real name under Browse -> Media Servers.

It's possible to browse through folders under Browse -> Media Servers -> nameOfNAS, but playing of files is possible only on the leaf folders by clicking "play" icon at the top of the folder.

Under "Browse -> Music Library" there's nothing. Not possible to Update/Rescan.

How could I add the Synology NAS to be saved in the list of network drives and play audio files not only from "leaf folders"?

Thanks, Denis

Hi, I guess, I've resolved this.

Can somebody add this into Volumio documentation?

CIFS share of Synology in Volumio should look like this: ("music" - that's the top share folder in root folder of Synology) image
