I see a new init for MP1, am I wrong or the recipe must be updated too, to use this init?

The installer/board-config/mp1/mkinstall_config.sh uses it.

mkinstall is for creating the installer only. the installer is an additional image for flashing the Volumio image on EMMC, used in production.

the init used on the Volumio image is the one selected in recipes/devices/families/kvims.sh (line 34)
