"New Legislatures" page #21

Liquid democracy can create better governance everywhere, not just in US Congress.

We'd love to make United.vote available for more legislatures.

To add new public legislatures, we need:

  • [ ] A source of new legislation introduced
  • [ ] The official district and jurisdiction boundaries.
    • GeoJSON, TopoJSON, or Shapefiles work especially well.
  • [ ] A source of elected legislators and their voting records, to be able to provide Scorecards.

Please [reach out]() if you can help bring new legislatures online.

We're also interested in piloting liquid democracy among private groups.

This can be good for your organization, and provide a much more accessible way for people to familiarize themselves with liquid democracy.

What United.vote already covers:

  • [x] An easy-to-use interface to learn about, debate, and vote on bills.
  • [x] A way to proxy to personal representatives. Search among existing users, an email address, public Twitter handle, or proxy directly from a shareable profile page.
  • [x] Quick & accurate identity verification to ensure a trustworthy civic space, free from fraud.
  • [x] Our secure Proof-of-Vote cryptosystem for verifiable digital voting, that still maintains voter privacy. [Need to clarify that it's WIP but solid.]
